ADT acquires Broadview Security

Tyco International, the company that owns ADT, announced that they have acquired Brink’s Home Security. This is important news for millions of current Broadview Security customers and exciting news for potential ADT customers. The cost for ADT to acquire Brink’s Home Security was a pricey one at almost 2 billion dollars, but could help further ADT’s financial and long-term growth. Some analysts agree that this was a very smart move for both ADT and Broadview Security.

Currently, ADT is considered a market leader in the industry, with Broadview Security following closely behind them. However, Broadview Security has something that ADT will find beneficial, and that is an extremely loyal customer base. In fact, Broadview Security has a low attrition rate – one of the lowest in the home security industry. This proves that Brinks Home Security has done a great job at keeping their customers happy and satisfied—even through their re-branding in 2009 when Brinks Home Security became Broadview Security. This proved that Broadview Security upheld their promise to existing Brink’s customers by continuing to offer them great home security services at affordable pricing. Many believe this will also be the case once Broadview Security starts operating under the ADT name.

ADT Security is owned by Tyco, a world leader in engineered electronic products, including fire and security products. This has given ADT an advantage of having access to some of the most cutting edge equipment to offer their customers. Many ADT customers have enjoyed having access to some of the latest technology the home security industry has to offer.

ADT has offered complete and affordable home security solutions to families for many generations, and they show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Now that Broadview Security and ADT will soon function as one company, homeowners will no longer need to choose between the two. If you are a homeowner and want the latest and greatest in home security, now is the best time to become a customer of one of the largest alarm companies in the United States. ADT offers a plethera of services that not only can benefit you and your family, but your business as well. Whether you need burglary or fire protection, security cameras, or even companion services for you or your loved ones—ADT can help. Since Broadview Security will now be a part of ADT, new and existing customers will reap the multiple benefits and services that have made both companies the household names that they are today.

The Benefit Plus Significance Of Burglar Alarm Systems

Many different companies offer burglar alarm systemsbut certain companies seem to dominate the market.  Both ADT and Brinks Home Security,  are well known and have been in business for many years.  Both companies offer excellent security systems that will satisfy any homeowner.

Burglar alarm systems are becoming more popular these days as people want to protect their home, family and belongings.  Selecting the proper security system and making some modifications to your house can be very effective at scaring off would be intruders.  If the burglar sees the logo tags of a security company on your doors or windows, he will most likely move on to another targer.  A security system will thrwart off a theft and send him to another residence that has no security.

If you personally are looking into burglar alarm systems, what are some things you should be keeping in mind for your selection?  How do you know which one is the best for you, and what features you need versus which ones are just a waste of money?  Obviously the answer will be different for everyone, but let’s take a closer look at how burglar alarm systems operate and what they offer, and then maybe you can make the best decision for you and your family.

First of all, really think about your own security needs and why you’re contemplating these burglar alarm systems.  Do you have reason to suspect that someone is stealing from you on a regular basis, or have you already been the victim of vandalism?  Do you just want something basic that will deter a would-be burglar or thief?  Or do you have children and family members that are home during the day and that may need assistance at the touch of a button?  By really assessing the things you need as a family, you can be better able to pick and choose through the available burglar alarm systems that are out there, and decide which features are best.

If you have reason to suspect that someone is stealing from you, perhaps a housekeeper or contractor or neighbor, you would choose the burglar alarm systems that include closed circuit cameras so that you can catch this person in the act.  You might also consider this if you suspect abuse on the part of your child’s babysitter or the person that takes care of an elderly relative in your home.  These types of burglar alarm systems are hooked up through a wire or send a wireless signal to a VCR or DVR, and this way you have a videotape or DVD that you can present to the police or in court.

For those who just want a basic model that will scare away intruders or that can summon the police or emergency medical services at the touch of a button, there are alarm burglar alarm systems that can do both.  The basic models have receivers hooked to doors and windows and set off the sound of the alarm if these are opened when the alarm is set.

A burglar alarm system is much like a seatbelt in the car; it will only protect you if you use it.  While false alarms or user error does sometimes happen, it’s usually very rare.  So don’t let fear keep you from using your own burglar alarm system.

Brinks Home Security | 5 Reasons To Get Brinks

I am asked all the time, “Can I trust Brinks Home Security?”, “Do you like Brinks?”, or other similar questions.  Well, I usually give an answer that is something along the lines of “yeah, I’d use them”, but I never really had solid reasons for my trust.  So, I decided to sit down and think about it to come up with 5 good reasons why I like Brinks Home Security.

1) Experience

They have been keeping people safe with over 30 years of experience in the business!  In an industry where safety is the biggest factor in the product, experience is a huge plus.  They have had time to make any mistakes that could be made by such a company and fix all of them.  By this point, they really don’t make any more mistakes.  A more recent company without the advantage of experience, though, has the odds stacked against them. They would most likely make a safety comprimising mistake.  Your safety is simply too important to justify any unnecessary risk.

2) Service

They have true 24 hour service all around!  They have 24 hour monitoring, of course, as any home security company that didn’t would be nearly useless, but Brinks also provides 24 hour support!  That means that time is not an issue if something goes wrong with the system. They’ll come out and fix it even at 2 am.  They make their customers top priority over everything, including sleep!

3) Awards

Remember all that stuff about the service stuff that you just read?  Well, said service is VERY good, good enough to win awards!  J.D. Powers and Associates have seen fit to declare that Brinks Home Security has “An Outstanding Customer Service Experience” for an impressive six years back-to-back.  Not to mention that Brinks Home Security also got a “Best Buy” award from Consumer Digest for its standard security system!  Awards definitely point to some high quality service.

4) Ease of Use

The keypad is incredibly simple and easy.  It’s easy to turn it on, and easy enough to turn it off.  On top of that, there are emergency buttons built into the pad that will activate the alarm and contact the monitoring personnel immediately if I’m ever in any danger while I’m at home.  Everything is about your safety, and Brinks Home Security can certainly increase your safety!

5) Professional

Their entire staff is very professional.  They are all Brinks employees who work in the US, instead of outsourced foreign workers in India who are so hard to understand that they could be completely useless in an emergency.  Which, of course, is when it is absolutely necessary that you can understand the person on the other side of the phone.  Brinks employees have licenses for the work that they do, they go through background checks, and they go through drug testing; all to insure that they will help you correctly when you need it the most.

Those are more than enough reasons for me to choose Brinks Home Security.  The choice is still yours, though.  Choose to trust Brinks, or pick “some other guy” to give your business to?

Burglar Alarm Systems Will Secure Your Residence

These days, advertisements for burglar alarm systems are everywhere, and chances are that virtually everyone knows the name of Brinks Home Security, Guardian, and ADT Home Security.  These companies started up by offering corporations and businesses various types of alarm systems, but soon found a wide open market for residential alarm systems, as well.

There is no end to the gadgets and accessories that you can add in a security system.  Surveillance cameras abound and are now commonly found around residential homes and yards; this means both inside and out.  Spy cameras are also becoming more affordable and easier to install, while their pictures are actually becoming crisper and clearer as well.  Whatever you want to accomplish with your burglar alarm system, there’s likely to be a piece of equipment or gadget for you.  Whether it’s to find out whose been stealing your mail from your mailbox or to keep an eye on the nanny while you’re away, there’s a component for you.

But do you know the number one mistake most homeowners make with their burglar alarm systems?  You’d be surprised at what it is; most people are.  It has nothing to do with the installation or setup.  Most these days feel that it’s worth paying a professional to do the installation for them; with many systems, the installation is included or is just a few dollars more.  Rather than trying to mess with the wiring or electrical or programming of their burglar alarm system, homeowners would rather than the installer come in and get it running for them; this can be a wise choice if you’re not familiar with electronics.

No, the number one mistake many people make with their burglar alarm system is not using it.  They oftentimes forget to set the alarm before going to bed or when going out.  Sometimes it’s just forgetfulness; you’re not used to doing this when you’re rushing out to work in the morning or when you’re exhausted at the end of the day, so the burglar alarm system is the last thing on your mind.

But there is another reason why many neglect using it, and that’s because they’re afraid of setting it off accidentally.  Like the smoke detector that sounds just because you’re cooking bacon, homeowners are afraid of doing
something wrong or negligent and causing the burglar alarm system to sound for no reason.  They fear the embarrassment that would cause with neighbors and police.

Monitored alarm burglar alarm systems are those that send a signal to a company that is monitoring your alarm on their computer system.  If the alarm is tripped, they immediately call you, the police, and emergency services.  These usually only cost a small monthly fee after they are installed.
