Tazer: A Ground-Breaking Creation for the 21st Century

Law enforcement and civilians have been looking for ways to protect themselves for centuries. Most of the means of self defense have been lethal weapons like swords or guns. Thankfully though, that last century yielded a great invention called the Tazer. Many lives have been saved thanks to this product.

A Tazer is an electroshock device that is used by civilians and police departments alike. It shoots out two darts connected by 15-foot wires that deliver 50,000 volts of electricity to the assailant in a short burst. This completely incapacitates the recipient of the shock for a short period of time. It also enables the law enforcement officer to cuff the attacker, or it gives time for the civilian to escape the reaches of their assailant. If the Tazer user doesn’t have an air cartridge, they can still use the tip of the Tazer like a stun gun.

The Tazer has proven itself time and time again in law enforcement. It has stopped people with guns, knives, and has even helped at times when hand-to-hand combat has gotten way out of control. Usually, you hear a lot about Tazer use in law enforcement but rarely is there any news about its use by civilians. Funny, since Tazer originally just sold its product to civilians.

If you live by yourself and scared of intruders, then you really should consider a Tazer. You can stop an assailant from 15 feet away or use it for direct contact. A Tazer requires little maintenance, unlike a gun, and it is extremely unlikely that you will kill someone with it. That is the greatest downfall of a handgun. Killing another human being is no light responsibility and killing someone, even in self defense or another justified means, can be extremely traumatic.

Tazer devices are legal in most states, but please make sure to check your local laws just in case there are restrictions. Some places have made it illegal for civilians to buy or carry them. If it is legal in your area and you buy a Tazer gun, then remember to practice with it and carry it with you as often as you can. Defending yourself is very important and if you’re properly prepared, then you’ll be less likely to become a victim.
